The Volusia Community Symphony is a volunteer orchestra

We perform various works, including but not limited to; classical music, movie soundtracks, patriotic/march pieces as well as Broadway show tunes. Our musicians range from aspiring middle and high school students, intermediate players and experienced players. We offer a place for musicians to come and play for their own enjoyment, and the enjoyment of the public. We generally schedule 8-10 shows during our fall/spring season, which are normally presented on Sunday afternoons, with four of them being open to the public. We also have informal shows where we travel to site, for those who are unable to travel themselves.

GroupAny Orchestral or band instrument players with previous experience, or who have not played for some time are welcome to join us. We have a mentor program that will provide you with five free refresher lessons and the opportunity to enhance your musical skills, as well as reacquainting yourself with your instrument. We are always looking for new players. Come and “sit in” to determine if VCS is the right fit for you! If you become a member, all we ask is that you learn the music to the best of your ability. We do ask that you commit to the weekly rehearsals which take place on Saturday mornings from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm. Our rehearsal site is located at First Congregational Church, 201 W. University Ave., Orange City, FL 32763. If you are interested, please contact Donald Kline (215) 896-4146 or email klinedo@gmail.com.
